Day Seventeen - From Panic to Power
The jewelry company taught me so much—not only about sales, but about believing in myself. It gave me the opportunity to work around my children’s schedules so I could still be there for the important moments in their lives.
During the day, I worked at the cleaning company. At night, I hosted jewelry parties in people’s homes. In between, I was raising my children, taking care of our home, paying the bills, and doing everything I could to build a better life for us.
Looking back now, I honestly don’t know how I pulled it all off. I was exhausted, worried, and often uncertain about what the next month would bring—but I refused to give up.
I prayed constantly. I placed my faith in a higher power and asked for the strength to keep moving forward.
Somehow, every month, I made the rent. I paid our bills. I put food on the table, and I continued creating a stable home for my children.
We may not have had everything we wanted, but we always had what we needed.
What I didn’t realize at the time was that I wasn’t only learning how to sell jewelry. I was learning how to speak confidently, connect with people, lead a team, manage money, and believe in my own abilities.
Those lessons were preparing me for the businesswoman I would one day become.
Sometimes we don’t recognize our own strength while we are surviving. We simply wake up, pray, work, and do whatever must be done. Looking back, I can finally see that every struggle was teaching me something—and every small victory was preparing me for something greater.
