Day Thirty-Two - It Was Time to Move
We both seemed like a good team. He handled the work out in the field, and I handled things inside the office. We stayed busy building the business.
Then a friend called with something I didn’t want to hear.
They thought he was spending time at a bar on Tremont Avenue with a young woman who made deliveries for a friend’s pizza parlor. He believed there might be something going on.
He denied it, and we separated for a little while. But he kept asking for forgiveness, saying it was before things became serious between us and there was nothing going on now.
We continued being friends and working together, but I had a lot on my mind.
And my biggest concern was my boys.
I didn’t like some of the crowds they were spending time with or the things I saw happening around them. Living near my ex made it harder to move forward, too.
I knew we needed a change. It was time to leave the Bronx.
I didn’t want to go far, but I wanted a different environment for my children and a fresh start for us.
So I put my house up for sale.
Within the first week, I had a buyer.
He wanted to take over by December, which meant I had to find somewhere for us to go—and fast.
I had worked so hard to buy that house. Now I was preparing to leave it, hoping this next move would be good for my boys.
Another chapter. Another big decision.
The mission was to find our next home.
To be continued…
