Day Six — Panic to Power: A Moment I will Never Forgot

As I entered my teenage years, strange and powerful things began happening around me.

I remember one day in the Bronx as clearly as if it were yesterday. There were rumors that the Blessed Mother was going to appear during an eclipse. We lived near Stadium Avenue, and people were gathering outside, looking toward the sky.

My mother kept telling me, “Get away from the window.”

The sky began to grow darker and darker until it seemed almost completely black. People below were screaming, “Oh my God! Oh my God!”

I looked up, and what I saw has stayed with me my entire life. In the darkened sky, I saw what appeared to me to be the Blessed Mother. She looked peaceful and incredibly beautiful. I remember feeling that there was a message: we will meet again my child

Then the darkness lifted, the sky opened, and daylight returned.

My mother told me she had seen it too, but she warned me never to tell anyone because people might think I was crazy. I kept asking her, “But if you saw it too, why can’t we tell anyone?” She told me it was something I needed to keep close to my heart.

This was a magical moment that I have carried with me my entire life. It was beautiful, powerful, and unforgettable.

Some experiences stay with us forever. This was one of mine.
